Software Synths

Synthesizers that exist only as software. Most of them model a specific instrument, so the first question is what it emulates and how faithfully; after that it is the same comparison as any synth — the oscillators, the filter, how many voices — plus the two things only plugins have: which formats it loads in, and whether it also runs standalone.
