Focusrite
Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 4th Gen
CurrentReleased 2023
The interface most people start with: two inputs that each take a mic, a line-level synth or a guitar, Auto Gain to set levels for you and Clip Safe to catch peaks. No MIDI, so a hardware synth needs its own USB or a separate adapter.
